Daybook

Privacy Policy

Effective September 23, 2026

Daybook is made by NovaWealth. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it. The short version: your data is yours, we collect only what the app needs to work, and we never sell it.

What we collect

Your email address, used to create and sign in to your account. The content you create in the app: tasks, events, reminders, and journal captures. That is all — we do not collect your name, phone number, contacts, location, usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or anything else from your device. Dictation uses your microphone while you are speaking — see Voice capture below.

Where it lives

Your account and content are stored with Supabase, our hosting provider. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is restricted so that only your account can read your content. Supabase processes this data solely on our behalf and is bound to protect it to at least the same standard described in this policy.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and content only for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our systems immediately; residual copies in encrypted backups are purged automatically within 30 days. We do not keep separate archives of deleted accounts.

How we use it

Only to provide the service: syncing your tasks, events, reminders, and captures across your devices and signing you in. We do not show ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not use third-party tracking or analytics.

Voice capture

You can dictate a capture instead of typing it. Daybook asks for microphone and speech-recognition permission the first time you do, then hands the audio to Apple’s speech recognizer. That transcription happens on your device whenever your language has an on-device model available; if it does not, iOS sends the audio to Apple to transcribe, under Apple’s privacy policy. Daybook never writes the audio to a file, never keeps it after the transcription, and never sends it to our servers. Only the text you choose to save is saved — exactly like a capture you typed.

Notifications

Reminder notifications are scheduled locally on your device. They are never sent through our servers, and their content never leaves your phone.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and all of your data at any time, in the app, from Account → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent — your account, tasks, events, reminders, and captures are removed from our servers.

Your rights

You can access and edit all of your content directly in the app at any time. You may also ask us to provide a copy of your data, correct your account information, or delete your account on your behalf — email us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in a region with data-protection laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, these rights apply to you automatically and we honor them for everyone regardless of location.

Children

Daybook is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and note the change in the app.
